What Is a Full-Spectrum Infrared Sauna?

Infrared wavelengths are part of the natural electromagnetic energy spectrum emitted by the sun. A full-spectrum sauna combines near, mid, and far infrared heat to produce optimum health benefits. Because the amount of infrared energy differs depending on the type of light, each of the different wavelengths provides a unique set of powerful benefits.

The full spectrum of infrared energy delivers real results for your body and mind. Here is how it works:

Near-infrared light has the shortest wavelength but delivers most of the infrared energy. It penetrates the epidermis, the outermost layer of the skin, to reduce wrinkles and aid muscle recovery.

Mid-infrared light helps burn fat by penetrating the subcutaneous fat layer under the dermis.

Far-infrared light has the longest wavelength, penetrating deep into the body to increase core body temperature and detoxify the tissues.

The mPulse Collection from Sunlighten allows the body to absorb 95-99% of infrared light energy, making it one of the best infrared saunas available. Plus, it is the only full-spectrum sauna with an FIR heater that is clinically proven to increase body temperature by 3° for that ultimate detox you have been craving.

The unit’s solocarbon heaters provide 7 times more effective detox than traditional saunas. Its patented heating technology also delivers mid-infrared light at peak wavelengths to burn fat, energize cells, and deliver the full range of infrared sauna benefits.

We know you have been craving some me time. Give your body and mind the gift of an indulgent, relaxing, and refreshing sauna experience at FACE today.

Discover the benefits of the Sunlighten mPulse Full Spectrum Infrared Sauna at FACE.

Detoxify

Increase core body temperature up to 3° with far-infrared light. These wavelengths penetrate the body to raise your core temperature and produce a detoxifying sweat that flushes metabolic waste and toxins like heavy metals from the body.

Reduce Blood Pressure

Experience a significant reduction in blood pressure with regular use.

Experience Weight Loss

Reduce weight and waist circumference. The heat generated by the sauna delivers all the benefits of a workout—without the work.

The sauna creates a passive cardiovascular effect by increasing cardiac output and metabolic rate. Plus, the body burns up to 600 calories per session, helping to reduce inches from your waist with regular use.

The sauna is especially effective after CryoSlimming treatments.

Relieve Pain and Improve Flexibility

Increase joint mobility, decrease friction in the joints, diminish stiffness, and promote joint restoration. Through increased blood circulation, infrared heat helps deliver more oxygen to muscles for faster recovery, increased pain relief, and reduced inflammation in joints for improvements in overall flexibility.

Stimulate Skin Elasticity

The near-infrared lights in the Sunlighten sauna stimulate the skin’s fibroblast cells to produce collagen and elastin. These two proteins boost wound healing and help maintain the skin’s firmness, elasticity, and smoothness. Keep that glowing, youthful skin in good shape with regular use.

How Do Saunas Work?

The heat in traditional saunas triggers a deep sweat to cleanse and purify the body. Sweating is an essential healing mechanism that helps flush out toxins and other metabolic waste products from the body. So a traditional sauna visibly enables detox via sweat.

Infrared saunas provide the same detox benefits without excessive heat. Rather than relying on heated air to trigger detox via sweating, a full-spectrum infrared sauna works by penetrating your skin, tissue, and muscles to promote powerful healing benefits.

The Sunlighten Full-Spectrum Infrared sauna reduces blood pressure, assists with weight loss, and promotes joint health. Plus, it helps your skin cells repair themselves while providing therapeutic effects to promote deep relaxation and stress reduction.

How to Use the Sunlighten Infrared Sauna

There is not much to it, but here is how to prepare for your sauna session

  • Wait at least 60 minutes after your last meal to allow food to digest.

  • Drink at least 8 oz. of water before and during your sauna session to hydrate and prepare your body for an increase in core temperature.

  • Place a towel on the bench before your sauna session to absorb sweat. We provide naturally anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, and deodorizing bamboo carbon towels.

Following your sauna, drink at least 24 oz. of water or an electrolyte-rich drink to rehydrate yourself and help the body flush toxins.

Operating the Sauna

Control your spa experience from within Sunlighten’s stunning wooden interior. Use the touchscreen to choose from 6 pre-programmed wellness treatments, each focusing on unique aspects of infrared heat.

With programs for detox, muscle recovery, skin health, immune-boosting, cardiovascular health, weight loss, and relaxation, you will get just what you most need from your session.

Each session lasts between 27 and 40 minutes, and for best results, we suggest 3-4 sessions each week. As the healing wavelengths work their magic, you can catch up on some reading, listen to audio on the sauna’s Bluetooth speakers, or take quiet refuge in the calm space to just be still.

Full Spectrum Infrared Sauna FAQ

How long should you stay in a sauna?

Generally speaking, how long to stay in a sauna depends on what feels comfortable for your body and the goals you have in mind. Sunlighten makes everything simple and easy by providing 6 pre-programmed session types, depending on what you would like the focus of your session to be.

There are programs for detox, muscle recovery, skin health, immune-boosting, cardiovascular health, weight loss, and relaxation, all of which are 40 minutes long.

What do you wear in a sauna?

Infrared heat therapy works by penetrating the skin’s surface to contact your muscles and tissues. The less clothing you wear, the more deeply the heat can penetrate your body. We always recommend doing what feels right for you.

If you are wondering what to wear in a sauna, you will get optimal results wearing a cotton or bamboo body wrap, workout shorts, or your choice of swimwear.

How often should I use the sauna?

A single sauna session can provide some much-needed rejuvenation. But the more often you use the sauna, the better your results will be. Use the sauna 3-4 times a week for 30-40 minutes for maximum benefit.

When will I start sweating?

Sweat levels differ between individuals. You may not sweat during the first few sessions, but sweating tends to increase with regular use. Even if you do not sweat heavily during your session, rest assured that your body is experiencing a powerful detox from harmful substances.

Please drink at least 8 oz of water before using the sauna and another 8 oz while inside. If you are not adequately hydrated, you will not experience much sweating.

Are Infrared saunas safe?

Yes, infrared light is a safe, gentle form of electromagnetic energy present in the natural world. Infrared saunas replicate this light using heaters—and are considered safe for most adults. If you are pregnant, have a medical condition, or feel unwell, please check with your physician before using the Sunlighten Full Spectrum Sauna or any sauna.

How many calories do you burn in a sauna?

The heat generated during the sauna has a similar cardiovascular effect as a workout session, helping take inches off your waist with regular use. There is an increase in cardiac output and metabolic rate during a sauna session, so the body burns up to 600 calories per use.

How hot is a sauna?

The temperature of traditional saunas is set between 150°-195° F (or 65°-99° C), which is necessary to heat the air within. The infrared sauna temperature range is lower, between 110°-140° F (or 43°-60°C).

An infrared sauna can achieve an advanced set of benefits at lower temps because its waves penetrate the skin, tissues, and muscles without first heating the air. The experience is a comfortable, relaxing warmth similar to the feeling of the sun kissing your skin on a warm day.

Are there any studies on the benefits of infrared therapy?

There are various studies on the use of infrared for a wide range of health benefits. Researchers found that Sunlighten infrared saunas can provide many of these benefits by increasing core temperature.
